Charity Basics has been created by Goallover Dotorg, a Community Interest Company (CIC)

A CIC is a limited company with a difference – rather than benefiting shareholders, a CIC creates benefits for a ‘community’ – in this case, our charity partners.

CIC’s works like this:

• Pre-registration there’s a ‘Community Interest’ test to check that the benefiting community is real – the charities are;
• Once registered, a CIC’s assets are locked and benefits can only go the community – the charities.

In our case, we receive a small referral fee for each donor we send to our partners. We use these fees to promote the website and find more donors for the charity partners.
