Crisis

Crisis helps single homeless people fulfil their potential and transform their lives.

We estimate that there are around 400,000 hidden homeless people in Britain, living in hostels, temporary bed and breakfast accommodation, and squats or sleeping on the floors of friends and family.

Many are eager to get back to work and find a home of their own – but they need help to do so.

To tackle these issues, Crisis delivers a range of innovative services.

  • Crisis Changing Lives, a UK-wide financial award scheme, provides funding for homeless people to achieve their vocational or career goals
  • Crisis SmartMove, a nationwide scheme, helps homeless people find new homes in private rented accommodation.
  • Crisis Skylight, in London and Newcastle, boosts homeless peoples’ self-esteem through activity classes and provides formal learning opportunities leading to qualifications and employment

Unlike many homelessness charities, 85% of our income comes from voluntary donations.

We simply couldn’t fund these services without the support of people like you.

So will you join the growing number of people who don’t just have sympathy for homeless people but more importantly – see their potential?
